Baptist leader Dr. Al Mohler affirms, “The most basic contours of American culture have been radically altered. The so-called Judeo-Christian consensus of the last millennium has given way to a post-modern, post-Christian cultural crisis.” The late great Christian “prophet” Francis Schaeffer exhorts, “Here is the great evangelical disaster – the failure of the evangelical world to stand for truth as truth.” Chuck Colson also writes, “The church’s singular failure in recent decades has been the failure to see Christianity as a life system, or worldview that governs every area of existence.”

The result, The Church in America is shrinking in numbers and in cultural influence. Biblical worldview understanding and personal evangelism are the two weakest areas in the Christian life. Another result is that we are now losing 70% of our youth when they leave home.

This conference and others like it need to be a high priority. Again as Francis Schaeffer emphasizes, “As Christians we are not only to know the right worldview, the worldview that tells us the truth of what is, but consciously to act upon that worldview so as to influence society in all its parts and facets, across the whole spectrum of life, as much as we can to the extent of our individual and collective ability.”
