Why the Cross Can
Do What Politics Can’t by Erwin W. Lutzer. Harvest House, 1999; 191 pages
Should Christians boycott Disney?
Should we pin our hopes for a moral society on the Republican
Party? Should we fight political battles to make America
a Christian nation? Erwin Lutzer addresses such questions
as these in this important and helpful book. He argues that
the preaching of the cross of Christ is a much more effective
and biblical tool than politics for bringing about moral
and spiritual transformation in society. He shows also that
political activism tends to distort the true mission and
message of the church.
